Do we work in your area?

Before You Call an HVAC Company

Afraid you will be told the whole system has to go?

A capacitor, contactor, flame sensor or condensate pump is an ordinary repair, not a reason to replace a working system. When replacement is worth weighing, you get both prices and you choose. Repair or replace.

Will someone actually show up?

You get a text with the day, arrival window and address. Visits go on the next day's schedule. Phones are answered 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM every day; later messages are returned in the morning.

Worried about a surprise price at the door?

You hear the diagnostic fee on the phone, before anyone drives out. At the house the technician shows you the failed part, names the price and waits for your yes.

Picturing dust and the old unit at the curb?

On a replacement we remove and dispose of the old equipment and leave the site clean. Ask any contractor to put the cleanup in writing.

Your System Through the Year Around DC

December to February. One of the trade's two busy seasons. Furnaces fail in the coldest stretch, and heat pumps lean on backup heat, which shows on the electric bill. See heat pump repair.

March to May. The average last freeze in Washington is around April 1. After that the house barely needs either system, so spring is the time for a cooling check or a planned replacement.

June to August. July highs in DC average around 89 to 90 degrees with thick humidity. A tired condenser shows itself in the first hot week, when schedules fill fastest. See AC repair.

September to November. Heating calls climb with the first cold snap, and the average first freeze is around November 12. A furnace idle since spring shows ignition and sensor faults on that first cold evening. See the DC heating and cooling calendar.
