Ductwork Repair and Sealing
When one room is never comfortable, the vents barely blow or dust comes out of the registers, the ducts are the first place we look. We test, seal, repair and replace ductwork, including runs that were never sized or connected right in the first place.
Duct problems we fix
- Weak airflow at one or more vents
- One floor much warmer than another
- Whistling or roaring in the ducts
- Dust coming from the registers
- Disconnected duct in the attic or crawl space
- Rooms that were added and never balanced
What changes the price
- How much of the duct run we can reach
- What the attic or crawl space is like to work in
- Whether the insulation needs replacing as well as the sealing
How we work
We look inside before we quote
When a room is never comfortable, we look inside the ducts before we price new ones. For the Ductwork Inspection Audit we run a camera through the ducts and put a pressure gauge on the system, and you get an airflow balancing report.
- If it's the power bill that has you worried, the Energy Efficiency Audit adds a duct leakage check to a full system efficiency test and a look at the thermostat and insulation.
Before you pay for duct work
You buy new equipment and the same room stays hot.
A room that's never right is often a duct or insulation problem. We measure airflow at the registers and trace the weak runs before anything else. Why one room is always hot.
You can't see what they did in the attic.
We write up the leaks, the disconnected and crushed runs and the missing insulation we found, and give you airflow numbers from before and after.
A hole left in the ceiling.
If duct work means opening a ceiling or wall, we patch it, finish it and match the texture, so you aren't left hunting for a second contractor to close it up.
Duct sealing sounds like an upsell.
Not when the ducts run through an unconditioned attic or crawl space. There you're paying to cool air that leaks out where nobody lives.
When ductwork shows its problems around DC
Leaky attic ducts show worst in summer, when July highs average around 89 to 90 degrees and the attic gets hotter still. The upstairs rooms fall behind first. See why the upstairs will not cool.

We take insurance jobs. Financing may also be available for qualifying projects. Ask when you call.
How the job runs
- 1We put a gauge on each register and follow the weak runs back toward the unit.
- 2In the attic, basement or crawl space we look for leaks, loose joints, crushed runs and missing insulation.
- 3You get a list of what we found and what fixing each item should change.
- 4We make the repairs, seal the joints and measure the airflow again.

Proof it worked
We measure the airflow in the problem rooms before and after, so you can see the result as a number.
