Air Conditioning Repair
When the AC runs all afternoon and the house never cools down, the fault is usually in the airflow, an electrical part, a frozen coil, the thermostat or a failed component. Call today and we'll be there tomorrow, with the common parts on the truck.
What we fix on an AC call
We repair it at your house. Nothing gets hauled off to a shop, and AC repair goes on the next day's schedule anywhere we work in Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia.
- AC blowing warm air
- System will not turn on
- Weak airflow
- AC keeps shutting off
- Indoor unit leaking water
- Outdoor unit not running
What changes the price
- Which part failed, and whether it's still made or obsolete
- Whether the fault is electrical, in the airflow or on the refrigerant side, since refrigerant work costs more
- Which refrigerant the system uses. Older R-22 systems are expensive to recharge.
The idea behind this work
The clammy house test
If the thermostat reads 72 and the house still feels damp, the AC isn't doing its job. A system that's sized and set up right runs long enough to pull the water out of the air. One that's too big cools the rooms fast, shuts off and leaves the moisture behind.
Before you book AC repair
You wait days in a heat wave.
If the AC is blowing warm air, we book you for the next day and text you the window. We pick up from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily, and a voicemail left later gets returned first thing.
You're told it needs refrigerant when it doesn't.
The technician checks the electrical side, the refrigerant charge, the airflow and the condensate path before naming a fault. Then you hear what failed, why it failed and what the fix costs.
A repair call turns into a sales pitch.
If it's under about ten years old and one part failed, repair it. If it's past fifteen, or the compressor or coil is gone, it's time to price a replacement. Either way we give you both numbers. Repair or replace an AC.
The fix lasts a week.
We run a full cycle before we leave to see that it holds, and we tell you straight whether the repair fixed it or just bought you a season.
When AC fails around DC
The cooling rush runs late June through August, and July highs average around 89 to 90 degrees and the air is wet. If the coil freezes, turn cooling off and leave the fan on to thaw it. See what moves an AC repair price.

How the job runs
- 1Tell us whether the indoor fan runs, whether the outdoor unit runs and whether you see ice or water anywhere. That tells the technician where to start.
- 2Outside at the condenser we test the capacitor, the contactor and the fan motor, then read the refrigerant pressures against the maker's chart.
- 3Inside we check the coil, the filter, the blower and the drain line, which is where frozen coils and full drain pans begin.
- 4You hear the cause and the repair price before anything gets replaced, and it's your decision.
- 5After the fix we let the AC run until the air comes out cold and steady, and we tell you whether the unit has more summers in it.
