What does Electrify MC add to a heat pump rebate?

What the county pays for

Montgomery County describes Electrify MC as money for electrification upgrades on top of the EmPOWER rebate stack. On a qualifying heat pump project the county adds up to $2,500 to the utility rebates.

That was the county's figure in October 2026. Montgomery County decides which projects qualify.

It rides on EmPOWER

Because Electrify MC stacks on the utility rebates, the EmPOWER rules come with it. EmPOWER starts with a discounted home energy audit, approves the rebate before work begins and needs a participating contractor to do the work. Our EmPOWER Maryland page has those amounts and steps.

Where we stand

Electrify MC money flows through the same participating contractors as EmPOWER, and we're not one of them. We're not signed up with the county either. Put plainly, the county's $2,500 won't come with a heat pump we install, so if that money matters to the decision, use a participating contractor.

What we can do in Montgomery County

We work in Rockville, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Wheaton and the rest of the county. If you want a heat pump price with no rebate in it, ours is free. We size the heat pump from the house, confirm the panel can carry the load before install day, and text you the written price 24 to 48 hours after the walkthrough.

Plenty of houses here keep the gas furnace as backup to the heat pump. Any gas work in Montgomery County needs a WSSC Water licensed gasfitter, and the number goes on the paperwork.

Services this program can pay for

A qualifying heat pump project lines up with our heat pump installation work, and with HVAC replacement when the heat pump takes over from an old furnace and AC.
